Man alive, what a blockbuster program we have for you this week!!! Come join us after you're done Harborfesting! The MOST-ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE YEAR hits the big screen first. DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE is tracking to surpass INSIDE OUT 2 as the biggest opening-weekend of 2024. CATCH THE EARLY SHOW WITH US ON THURSDAY! Playing second all week is the recent release MAXXXINE from visionary studio A24, that brought us HEREDITARY, MIDSOMMAR, and Best Picture Oscar winner EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. MAXXXINE is a terrific throwback to the wild flicks that filled most of the Midway Drive-In's schedule in the 1970s and early-1980s. It's a horror/slasher/thriller set in the adult-film world of the '80s with an amazing soundtrack, and it follows X and PEARL as the next installment of the X trilogy/series starring the enrapturing Mia Goth. Like the first two films, MAXXXINE is distinctly different from the others and stands well on its own, so you can enjoy it even if you're not caught up on director Ti West's brilliant, gory trilogy. And on FRIDAY & SATURDAY ONLY we have a BONUS THIRD FEATURE also from A24, the compelling drama CIVIL WAR starring Academy Award nominee Kirsten Dunst along with Nick Offerman and Jesse Plemons. Don't miss this epic lineup!
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE WILL BE A THREE-WEEK ENGAGEMENT. Next week
(Friday 8/2 through Thursday 8/8) is a double-feature with the hit comedy/action BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE. We're still working on the co-feature(s) for Deadpool's third week starting August 9th, but we're looking at LONGLEGS and other movies for another potential triple feature on Friday and Saturday nights. (Feel free to 'comment' any recent R-rated pictures you've been wanting to see.) STARTING AUGUST 16TH the barn-busting double-feature TWISTERS [2024] and TWISTER [1996] blows into the Midway!!! It's already been a dynamite season for big-time shows, and we still have so much more coming your way!
We accept cash, cards, and smartphone pay. Admission is $10 per person ages 12+, $5 per person ages 7 to 11, free for kids ages 6 & under, and $8 for military and veterans, with ID. Showtimes are the earliest a feature will start and may vary slightly. Gates open at 7:00PM on Friday and Saturday, and at 7:30PM on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We show rain or starshine. There is no saving of spaces, please. All vehicles must be parked within one-foot of any post, and blankets and chairs should be placed just within your space. Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest nights; arrive before 8pm for preferred parking and shorter lines. From our famous pizza to Hofmann hot dogs and juicy burgers from Scriba Meats, to cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, pickles and everything in between, we offer a wide-variety of delicious food and drink in our concession stand. All our items are highest-quality, freshly-prepared, and very-reasonably priced.
OUR SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MPH. Please secure hatches down to roof level, to lessen obstruction of the screen for the patrons behind you. Bungee cords and ratchet straps work great for this, and we have twine available for no charge at the projection booth. The spots closest to
the snack bar in rows 3, 4, and 5 are reserved for handicapped parking. PLEASE use your headlights anytime your vehicle is in gear on our lot. It's better to cause a distraction than to cause an accident.
We broadcast the soundtrack on 87.9FM. The superior sound is through your car stereo. The soundtrack sounds terrific and you control the volume. If you prefer to sit outside we urge you to bring along your own portable radio or boombox. Our loaner radios go fast, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. We have them for folks whose car stereos aren't working. Unless your vehicle battery is in need of replacing, it should last fine through the movie. A quick start of the engine for a minute or two, every hour or so, might not be a bad idea if you're unsure of your battery strength. Usually, when vehicles need jumps, lights or defogger fans have been on. If you need a jump it's no problem, no charge! Just come to the projection booth if you need any help whatsoever.
Thanks so much, and we can't wait to see YOU, here, at the Midway Drive-In Theatre! |
